Principal
Each day I enjoy every minute working with a wonderful staff, dynamite children and a supportive parent community.

My background includes attending the University of Iowa, Iowa City, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I then earned my master’s degree in educational leadership from Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill. I have been involved in education for 20 years. I have taught language arts, reading, math, geography and American history in grades six through eight. Also, I have served as an assistant principal in District 303 and spent seven years as a principal in School District 58. Not only have I spent a lot of time in classrooms, I have also spent many hours on the athletic fields and in gymnasiums coaching children of all ages.

I am excited to be part of the School District 308 administrative team!  Each day I look forward to meeting and working closely with the students, families and staff. Working together there is nothing we cannot accomplish.

Assistant Principal

I am excited to be joining the team at Old Post as Assistant Principal for this upcoming 2022-23 school year. I have heard great things about the students, families, and staff connected to the school, so I am greatly looking forward to serving my role to support the learning and well-being of every student.

Personally, my family has two children – one of whom is old enough for Pre-school this year. We value spending time outdoors cycling public trails, visiting parks in our neighborhood, and gardening at home. (If you have any good rhubarb recipes, we would be excited to try them!)
As an educator, I am joining the Oswego community from East Aurora School District #131 where I served as a 7th grade Honors Math teacher. There, my philosophy was to educate students on the strategies of a good learner and (on a larger scale) the value of education to their life. I worked to build relationships with students, families, and community members through extracurricular activities such as Coding Club, Student Council, Cross Country, Track & Field, and Running Club. In short, I wanted it to be clear to all stakeholders the genuine care and interest that I have for supporting young people in becoming the best version of themselves.

I am eager to begin in this new role at Old Post so that I can support the school’s work promoting quality outcomes for the children in our community. One of my favorite aspects of education is contributing, supporting, and celebrating a child’s growth year-over-year as they learn about their place in the world. I look forward to beginning this partnership with you in the upcoming school year.
